Dolly Parton was known around the world for her extraordinary music and philanthropy. But her legacy holds a very special meaning for Gainesville Thrives and the families we serve.

Through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Dolly created a remarkable vision: that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy and lifelong benefits of having books in their home. Because of her vision, thousands of children in our community have received books they can call their own and families have shared with us how excited their children are when a new book arrives in the mail.

As we reflect on her passing, we are reminded that Gainesville Thrives is part of something much larger than our local program. Every book we help place in a child's hands represents a continuation of Dolly's vision and her belief in the power of children, families, and education.

Dolly’s legacy challenges us to continue expanding access to books, strengthening family engagement, and ensuring that more children experience the joy of reading.

Our Mission

Gainesville Thrives works to promote tutoring and mentoring for kindergarten through high school students, as well as other services for expectant parents, parents and their infants, toddlers, and preschool children. By informing the faith-based community and others of Gainesville's needs and opportunities, we can achieve long-term academic success for students and stronger and healthier families.
