Social Media Coordinator
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Social Media Intern will assist Gainesville Thrives’ volunteer group, staff and board members with graphics, photos, videos, and text for all social media and content platforms.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Regular posts to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter

Help plan and promote events

Market volunteering and donations through social media campaigns

Update other recruitment sites

Fluent or comfortable using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media for community outreach

Graphic Designer
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Graphic Design Intern will assist Gainesville Thrives’ volunteer group, staff and board members with graphics and other creative materials.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Create promotional materials and documents that include graphics for events

Create materials to promote mentoring

Prepare graphics for the website and social media platforms
-
Prepare brochures and graphic design for newsletters

Create PowerPoint Presentations

Fluent or willing to learn Wix online website builder

Videographer
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Videographer will work closely with the Graphic Design and Social Media interns to create promotional graphics and other creative materials.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Take photos and videos for promotional materials

Work directly with other team members

Plan graphics for the website and social media platforms

Create usable material for brochures and newsletters

Associate Webmaster
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Associate Webmaster will assist the Webmaster in maintaining the Gainesville Thrives website and other management tools, such as the Google Workspace.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Regular maintenance of the website, making updates as needed.

Work with other interns to create materials that aid in promotion and recruitment on the website.

Coordinate with treasurer regarding donations to the website.

Grant Writer
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Grant Writing Intern will generate copy material and fill out grant application to assist the organization in gathering funding.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Research potential new sources of funding

Begin preparation for composing grant proposals and letters of intent (LOIs)

Create and edit materials to help solicit support from congregations
-
Create and maintain relations with donors
-
Conduct research and analysis on prospective and existing individual, foundation and corporate partners
-
Draft and/or edit business development materials such as correspondence, reports, proposals and donor appeals
-
Assist with strategies for donor cultivation and solicitation

Archivist
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Archivist Intern will assist Gainesville Thrives’ volunteer group, staff and board members by compiling information for a written history of Gainesville Thrives. This will facilitate the preparation for future grant writing.

This position is geared towards those who have a love for research, library science, history writing, or writing in the social sciences.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Compiling information for a written history of Gainesville Thrives

Interviewing Gainesville citizens that have been involved in providing social services

Updating the organization’s historical records

Organizing a plan to train the next archivist

Optimizing the filing system

Volunteer Coordinator
5-10 Hours Weekly • Student or Community Member
The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will assist Gainesville Thrives’ volunteer group, staff and board members with promoting mentoring and tutoring programs and services in Alachua County.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Interface with local congregations, fraternities and sororities, and community groups

Recruit volunteers for literacy and mentoring efforts
-
Disseminate information about tutoring and mentoring opportunities
-
Aid volunteers with the application process to work through the school district or other volunteer opportunities in Gainesville
-
Keep track of openings to volunteer
-
Represent organization at community events
-
Attend weekly meetings of the volunteer team

The Office Manager Intern will assist Gainesville Thrives’ volunteer group, staff and board members with promoting mentoring and tutoring programs and services in Alachua County by performing clerical duties that include managing paperwork, organizing files, working with the Archivist intern to catalog documents.
The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

The major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Organizing fundraising initiatives within the Gainesville community

Cold calling local businesses

Helping to foster links between Gainesville Thrives and local Gainesville community organizations and businesses

Potentially reaching out to on-campus organizations for fundraising initiatives
