Many groups and organizations are supporting at risk children and their families in Gainesville. Become a volunteer in the organizations below.

Leaders Overcoming Through Faith (LOF)

The LOF youth group is for boys in who live near Faith Mission. Focus areas for LOF are leadership, teamwork, and character development, with one club day and one academic support day in the late afternoons each week. Volunteers are needed for club day programming support, mentoring, and homework help.

Early Learning Coalition of of Alachua County (ELCAC)

The ELCAC works with students, grandparents, and others whose interests are in helping children with early-education programs.

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY)

HIPPY is a home-based, early intervention program that helps parents create experiences for their children that lay the foundation for success in school and later life.

Kids Count

Kids Count welcomes teen and adult volunteers after school program – helping with homework, reading with the children, supporting the staff with fun activities – and you can choose any hour of time to serve between 3:00 and 5:30 Mon., Tues., Thurs., & Fri. or between 1:00 and 4:00 on Wed.


SMILE Encourager

This program is a partnership with Rawlings and Greenhouse Church to build additional support and encouragement for students who will most benefit. Volunteers come during the school lunch period once a week.
